NAFI CT’s Multisystemic Therapy for Emerging Adults (MST-EA) program provides intensive individual treatment for young adults (ages 17-26) who are experiencing serious mental illness and/or substance use disorders. MST-EA stabilizes young adults with significant mental health concerns and other high-risk behaviors through intensive multi-weekly treatment sessions delivered in the young adult’s home and community. Services typically last for seven to twelve months.
The program focuses on safety and crisis prevention while helping the young adult to build support systems within their community and develop the skills needed for a successful transition to adulthood.
Young adults can also be assigned to a Life Coach who helps them in pursuing vocational and educational goals and building their community/social connections throughout the treatment process and for an additional two months of aftercare.
