NAFI’s Adolescent Sexual Behavior Treatment & Education (ASBTE) Program is designed to prevent reoffending of sexually inappropriate or abusive behavior. The program focuses on promoting safety and educating youth and their families on appropriate sexual behavior, boundaries, and healthy development while equipping youth with prosocial life skills. Highly trained ASBTE clinicians partner with CSSD, community agencies, the client, and his/her family to determine best ways to help each youth individually.
ASBTE is an evidence-informed practice that includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-informed care to address the multiple determinants underlying problem sexual behavior. ASTBE offers two levels of in-home care based on the individualized needs of the youth and his/her family. Level 1 will offer youth and families psychoeducational interventions along with case management for a period of 1-3 months. Level 2 offers a higher degree of care for youth and families identified with more complex needs. On level 2, youth and families receive more intensive clinical services, including individual and family counseling a minimum of once per week, psychoeducational interventions, and case management for a period of 6-12 months. Aftercare services are available upon completion of either level of treatment.
